The Transmission Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers with their duties. This position supports the Construction team and works closely with personnel within the department.

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and possible hazards.
• Assist the tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and watch dig crew to prevent utility hits and assist in manually digging.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies ensuring crews have the proper tools and supplies to complete the job.
• Seed and apply straw.

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• CDL Class A driver's license.

• 1 or more years of experience.

This job operates in a field environment. It routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind, is also required. The physical demands are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds and maintain clear vision and hand‑eye coordination.
