The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to serve in a full-time, non-tenured track position as a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Endocrinology physician.
Responsibilities- Clinical Responsibilities - 90%
Provide clinical care for the pediatric patient population, including satellite locations, in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Clinical care includes diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of disorders, consultations, acute care, ordering and interpreting laboratory results, developing treatment plans, patient/family education and various procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and share weekday and weekend emergent/after-hours call coverage. - Education/Instruction - 10%
Provide mentorship, clinical supervision and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at AU and develop an in-depth educational experience for trainees in pediatric endocrinology; deliver didactics through training at AU/Wellstar Health System. Achieve and maintain teaching scores at or above the department mean.
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university.
- Board Certified in Pediatrics, and Board Certified/Board-eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology.
- State of Georgia medical license, federal DEA and CPR certification.
- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
- Consistent with SACSCOC requirements, evidence of teaching, scholarly activity, personal qualities judged by interview and recommendations.
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. Full-time equivalent (FTE) is 1.0. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds.
