The Department of Pathology, Section of Anatomic Pathology at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University invites applications for a full‑time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. We seek an anatomic pathology or anatomic/clinical board‑certified or board‑eligible individual with subspecialty training and/or experience. The successful Pathologist will participate in general surgical pathology sign‑out service, provide frozen section, evening, weekend and holiday call coverage, participate in subspecialty anatomic pathology sign‑out service (based on fellowship training/experience and/or interest), provide subspecialty consultations and represent pathology at subspecialty tumor boards, perform/supervise and sign out adult autopsies on a rotation basis, teach medical students and residents (didactic and conference sessions) and co‑scope with residents and students during sign‑out service, engage in scholarly activities and research based on an assigned effort.
This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.
- Participate in general surgical pathology sign‑out service

- Perform other related duties as assigned
MD, DO or equivalent with AP or AP/CP training and American Board of Pathology board certification or board eligibility. GA state licensure. Credentialed to practice at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. Subspecialty interest or fellowship training and/or experience.
Assistant Professor – Early‑level career faculty member with appropriate post‑graduate training.
Associate Professor – Mid‑level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Additional faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks:
- Consistent with SACSCOC's requirements for institutional accreditation
- Evidence of ability as a teacher
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned
- Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements)
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations
This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. The intended full‑time commitment is 1.0 FTE. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements for both ranks and are subject to availability of funds.
