Job Summary: Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks an Associate Professor or Professor level Section Chief for the Division of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). This non‑tenure track position requires board certification/eligibility in Urogynecology and encompasses direct patient care, teaching, research, and leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and perform surgical management of urogenital tract and pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse and urinary and fecal incontinence.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and surgical evaluation and management.
  • Supervise junior faculty and mid‑level providers; develop a culture of evidence‑based, patient‑centered care, and promote faculty advancement through research, national service, and scholarly publication.
  • Provide lectures, attend Grand Rounds, M&M conferences, Journal Club, Division meetings, and other departmental activities.
  • Mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Collaborate with other departments on clinical research projects.
  • Participate in leadership activities, develop strategies for growth of division’s clinical, educational, and research programs.
Required Qualifications
  • MD, licensed/eligible for license in Georgia, 5+ years of clinical and teaching experience, current DEA registration.
  • Board certified or eligible in OB/GYN or Urology and Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery.
  • Associate Professor (mid‑career; ≥5 years at Assistant Professor or comparable) or Professor (senior; ≥5 years at Associate Professor).
  • Compliance with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness, scholarly activity, and ability in all assigned duties.
  • Desirable personal qualities assessed during interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications

Preference for candidates who are well trained in vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic pelvic reconstructive surgery; demonstrate commitment to patient safety and quality; have a record of advancing knowledge through innovative clinical research; possess leadership experience.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Full‑time (FTE 1.0); fiscal year based; works year‑round. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to funding availability. Tuition Assistance Program available to full‑time employees after 6 months.
