Overview
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications is the 1st of each month. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled.

Qualifications and Basic Requirements are listed below. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. VA physicians may be required to meet additional credentialing or board certification requirements for faculty status depending on position and program.
Basic Requirements
- United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may be appointed only when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA policy - Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an approved school
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, or in the District of Columbia
- Residency training approved by VA in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
- Board eligibility or certification as required by the position
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Preferred Experience:
Board certified in subspecialties relevant to the position (e.g., Cardiology, Neurology, Pulmonary, GI, , Dermatology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Heme/ONC) and leadership experience as a section chief - Leadership development certifications or further graduate degree for administrative health management

Physical Requirements:
Eligible applicants must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, without hazard to themselves or others. Duties
- Provide oversight of multiple medical non-surgical sub-specialties, inpatient consultations, and outpatient clinics
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of physicians and procedures to deliver high-quality patient care
- Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to identify opportunities and implement improvements
- Support recruitment and retention efforts, set physician salaries, and conduct FPPE/OPPE on privileged staff
- Act as direct supervisor for Section Chiefs aligned to Specialty Care
- Participate in organizational planning (strategic, operational, programmatic) to achieve the medical center’s mission and vision
- Experience with residents/physicians, labor mapping, productivity, clinic access, and consult management
- Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, or per supervisor discretion
