Nealy Pierce has been exclusively engaged by a respected, faith-based, nonprofit 700+ bed health system in the coastal Southeast to recruit a Director of Medical Staff Services.
This system-level leadership opportunity includes oversight of:
- Medical Staff Services across two hospital campuses
- Approximately 700 medical staff members
- A team of five, including a Medical Staff Services Manager and three Credentialing Coordinators
- MEC coordination, medical staff governance, credentialing, privileging and physician relations
- A significant medical staff bylaws revision currently underway
The organization is seeking an experienced Medical Staff Services leader who is comfortable working with strong physician personalities, navigating complex governance issues and partnering closely with executive leadership and legal counsel.
Highlights- Highly visible role reporting to the Vice President of Medical Affairs
- Direct partnership with executive and physician leadership
- Opportunity to complete and then own a once-in-10-to-15-year bylaws revision
- Planned transition and support from the current Director
- Growing physician-education mission with new residency and fellowship programs planned
- Base salary up to $160,000 annually (DOE) + full relocation assistance
- 28 days of front-loaded PTO

- 3+ years Medical Staff Services leadership experience within a large hospital, multi-hospital system or centralized system-level function
- Strong knowledge of MEC operations, medical staff governance, bylaws, credentialing and privileging
- Executive presence and the ability to work effectively with influential physician leaders
- CPMSM or CPCS strongly preferred; bachelor's degree preferred
- MD-Staff experience and advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
