Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a General Surgery Program Director to lead their new General Surgery GME Residency Program in Augusta, GA. This surgeon is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and general administration of the General Surgery Residency Program. This role ensures compliance with ACGME requirements while fostering a high-quality educational environment that supports residents pursuing diverse pathways. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated, surgical leader to continue shaping and lead this residency program.

• MD/DO
• Board Certified in General Surgery
• 3 years of educational / administrative experience
• Willing to work clinically and devote a significant amount of professional effort to program administration
• Strong administrative and team building skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Have a current, or be able to obtain an unrestricted license to practice in Georgia - not subject to any restrictions, probationary terms or conditions
• No history of license to practice being revoked, restricted or suspended by any professional licensing agency in any state or jurisdiction
• Have current, unrestricted DEA registration

• Authority and accountability for the operation of the General Surgery residency program
• Development of curriculum, policies, and procedures for the program
• Maintaining ACGME accreditation, compliance, and state approval
• Recruiting residents into the program and developing evaluation process for performance
• Participating in competency evaluations of residents
• Additional responsibilities to ensure program of excellence
• Strong, committed faculty team with deep experience and knowledge
• Coordinate rotations across multiple departments
• Ensure curriculum supports diverse career pathways and specialties
