Job Summary

The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University’s Center for Telehealth is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor to serve as a Tele‑Neurologist. The faculty rank will be based on years of experience in neurology and/or tele‑health with applicable training. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert neurological care through telemedicine for patients of Wellstar’s Digital Health programs.
  • Provide asynchronous and synchronous consultative services for patients in emergency, inpatient, and ICU settings.
  • Assess and diagnose patients with acute neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, seizure, altered mental status, TIA) and collaborate with the bedside team for care plan and treatment.
Required Qualifications

MD, DO or equivalent. Active medical license.

Faculty rank requirements:

  • Assistant Professor – Early‑level career faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
  • Associate Professor – Mid‑level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
  • Professor – Senior‑level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

USG institutions and all academic ranks require:

  • Consistent with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation.
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher.
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
  • Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Shift / Salary / Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. The intended work commitment is FTE 1.0 and considered full‑time.

Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary are determined at the time of hire and based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, internal equity, and market data.
