Job Summary

Augusta University (AU) College of Nursing (CON) invites applications for full‑time, 12‑month Instructor positions. The College of Nursing is the state’s flagship nursing program, enrolling more than 1,000 students across two campuses and a network of academic‑practice partner sites. The College is an integral component of the University System of Georgia, part of the state’s only publicly‑funded comprehensive academic health science center, and is adjacent to Wellstar MCG Health, Children’s Hospital of Georgia, Georgia Cancer Center, and the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Opportunities for clinical experiences abound for students and faculty. The college also houses a thriving Nurse‑Managed Health Center, providing additional clinical practice and teaching opportunities focused on primary care, telehealth, and behavioral health. Offering a full degree spectrum that includes BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs, this position does not qualify for a tenure track.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in nursing. Active licensure to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia.

  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for institutional accreditation.
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher.
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
  • Successful experience (waived for those entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications

Academic teaching experience in clinical, simulation or skills lab. Didactic teaching experience with classroom technology.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round.

The intended work commitment or full‑time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full‑time.

Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, and are subject to availability of funds.
