- Academic Faculty in Biological Sciences
We invite applications for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, College of Science and Mathematics, Augusta University. The ideal candidate will develop a vibrant, independent, and competitive research program that extends and complements existing faculty strengths and will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in his or her area of expertise, mentor graduate (MS, PhD) and undergraduate students, and serve on department, program, and campus committees.
This position is tenure track.
- Research – 45%:
Conduct scholarly activities in the field, involving undergraduate and graduate science majors. - Teaching – 45%:
Teach and coordinate biology courses as assigned. - Service – 10%:
Perform service on committees and other duties as assigned.
- Ph.D. in biological sciences or related field.
- At least 1-year postdoctoral experience.
- Strong publication record.
- Commitment to teaching or mentorship.
- External funding awards.
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
This position is academic year based and typically works August through May. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) is 1.0. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to availability of funds. Tuition assistance may be considered for employees employed for more than 6 months.
