Job Summary:
Augusta University College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The College of Nursing offers the full degree spectrum including BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs. This position is not considered to be on tenure track.
- Engage in didactic teaching in Pre-Licensure Nursing core and/or concentration courses
- Course coordination and evaluation
- Partner with preceptors for student learning and evaluation
- Participate in curricular development and evaluation
- Participate on College of Nursing and university committees
- Mentor students in Pre-Licensure Nursing projects
- Engage in scholarly activities (presentations and publications)
- Other responsibilities may vary by Pre-Licensure Nursing
Doctorate degree relevant to the area of practice (PhD, DNP). Active licensure to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia.
Assistant Professor – Early level career as a faculty member.
Associate Professor – Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (will be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements);
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Academic teaching experience in didactic and/or clinical instruction. Comfort with technology-infused engaging pedagogical strategies including simulation and other active learning modalities. Evidence of contribution to the profession and recognition at the local, regional, or national level.
Shift/Salary/BenefitsThis position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
Assistant Professor – Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Associate Professor – Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
