Lecturer in Mathematics

Job Summary

The College of Science and Mathematics at Augusta University is seeking a Lecturer in Mathematics. Beginning in Fall 2024, the role focuses on teaching undergraduate mathematics and statistics. This position is not tenure-track.

• Teaching 90% of effort, primarily lower level mathematics and statistics.
• Service 10%:
  Participate in service activities supporting the department, college, university, and/or profession.

• MS in mathematics or related quantitative field.
• Consistent with SACSCOC institutional accreditation requirements.
• Evidence of ability as a teacher.
• Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
• Successful experience (waived for those entering the profession who meet all other requirements).
• Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

• Ph.D. in Mathematics.

Academic year based, typically August through May. Full-time equivalent 1.0. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds.
