• Developing and reviewing documentation to support Radiation Protection (RP) instrument and software approvals.
• Providing technical support and guidance for instrument operation.
• Supporting initiatives to modernize the instrument fleet and software applications.
• Assisting in the management of impact actions, regulatory actions, and corrective action plans.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

• Education
  • Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology in a field relevant to the position (or equivalent formal education). Or
  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma (or equivalent) and greater than 3 years of pertinent experience/education/training.
• Experience
  • Minimum of three years of technical experience. Or
  • Technical knowledge of a broad range of radiation protection instrumentation.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Group 1 Radiation Protection Training would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CNL’s Radiation Protection (RP) program requirements would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledgeable in Radiation Protection instrumentation.
  • Must be technically competent to review and develop RP instrument-related documents.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulations and is familiar with instrument standards, guidelines, or recommendations.
  • Must remain current on technological developments.
  • Knowledge of scientific and mathematical principles.
  • Must have the ability to maintain and continually improve working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Possess a high sense of individual responsibility and the ability to adhere to a schedule.
• Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

• May have to don RP Personal Protective Equipment & Clothing should the need arise to help troubleshoot RP instrument in the field.
