Standard Aero is excited to announce our 2026 - A&P Mechanic Apprenticeship Program at our Business Aviation MRO facility in Augusta, GA
. The 6-month apprenticeship will begin January 9th, taking place each Friday through June 2026. This program is designed for students who are passionate about aviation and are looking to gain hands‑on experience while working towards their FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License. Join us in maintaining excellence in aircraft maintenance and repair, and take the first step in your aviation career!
- Learn to perform routine maintenance and assist with major inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft components and engines.
- Perform routine servicing tasks on aircraft and engine components.
- Familiarize yourself with materials processes and procedures.
- Observe and adhere to all safety, environmental, and general housekeeping rules and policies.
- Perform other duties as required by the department.
- Qualified Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be currently enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technology program.
- Must be graduating in 2026
- Must be working towards a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License and able to obtain both within three months of graduation.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be available to work Fridays, with shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S., without sponsorship.
- Must be willing to submit to background/ drug screening requirements to meet airport security badging standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand for a minimum of 4 hours per day and walk long distances.
- Bend, stretch, crawl, and climb ladders to access difficult areas within the aircraft.
- Work outdoors in extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
- See and hear well enough to detect problems, disassemble/inspect components, and communicate effectively.
- Excellent hand‑to‑eye coordination and dexterity to manipulate tools, equipment, and keyboards.
This internship provides a hands‑on learning environment in a professional MRO setting, with opportunities to cross‑train in airframe, supply, inspections, and engines. Develop your technical skills under the guidance of experienced professionals, preparing you for a successful career in aviation maintenance.
