Role DescriptionArcadis is seeking a GIS Specialist candidate to provide analytical and consulting support for U.S. State Departments of Transportation. Projects focus on cartography and mapping, data management and maintenance, and design and implementation of enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using Esri-based software to support Esri Roads and Highways, ArcGIS Enterprise platforms, Business Systems Integration, and visualization tools and platforms. This role will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area.
RoleAccountabilities
- Maintain line and point event data using advanced linear referencing systems and analyze datasets within an LRS network, including centerlines, routes, and calibration points.
- Perform mapping, cartography, and visualization of GIS datasets utilizing Esri technologies, and maintain data required for producing Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) and Certified Public Mileage (CPM) reports.
- Identify and design business processes for use in Workflow Manager (WMX), develop Data Reviewer checks to validate data conversion and creation processes, and manage GIS data through editing and quality assurance best practices.
- Use Event Editor (EE) sites on ArcGIS Server to maintain GIS data, parse REST service calls to interrogate enterprise database systems, and design and develop geoprocessing models using model builder and Python.
- Work with FME to translate geospatial data and collaborate effectively in a team environment as well as independently to complete assigned tasks.
- Work location is flexible. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
- Esri ArcGIS Pro products (ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder, Field Maps, Portal, Survey
123, etc.). - Esri Roads & Highways applications and enterprise database management.
- Linear referencing concepts.
- Familiarity with enterprise database environments, including versioning concepts.
- Demonstrating analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex reports and presentations.
- Experience with Asset Management software and concepts.
- Advanced Analytics and Data Visualization techniques.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Arcadis offers benefits for full‑time and part‑time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $57,786 – $99,392.
Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
