NCDOT is looking for a highly motivated individual looking for a position with the potential of career advancement. This position will provide all state benefits including paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement.
This position involves technical work supporting technicians and engineers in construction inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control. This position requires the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non- standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. This work involves limited decision making and use of judgment. The successful applicant must perform a full range of calculations and computations.

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. You must perform a full range of calculations and computations and be proficient in record keeping.
You do not have to have a degree to qualify for this position. Applicants with at least two years of related experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Management prefers applicants with the following:
Knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and /or construction surveying   Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision   Experience in maintaining neat, legible and accurate records and reports, including computer/iPad data entry    Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle. Safety toe shoes are required.
Offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of NCDOT post offer employment evaluation.
