Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers accepted

• Work in telemetry unit with adult to geriatric patient population

• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with 36 rooms and average daily census of 35

• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIH preferred)

• Epic charting system experience required, plus Pyxis and SBAR

• Navy blue scrubs required

• Every other weekend coverage required

• Floating to other units required

• No call requirements

• Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed

• No holiday RTO will be approved

• 12 hours of orientation provided

• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain, dysrhythmias, hypertension/hypotension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues

• Must manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration including milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem, lidocaine, bumex, and heparin

• Skills include blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, chest tube management, feeding tube care, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, and wound care

• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only

• Clinical screening required to determine clinical fit

• Full compliance required to start on time

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive telemetry unit specializing in cardiac and medical care for adult and geriatric patients. The facility utilizes Epic charting systems and maintains modern equipment including Sara Steady lift equipment. The organization provides extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries to ensure comprehensive patient care.
