Hospital Based Patient Advocate at Elevate Patient Financial Solutions®
Full‑time, 100% onsite at a hospital in Augusta, GA. Tuesday‑Saturday shift, 10:30 am–7:00 pm with rotating holidays.
Pay InformationBase pay: $18.00/hr – $23.00/hr.
Job SummaryConnect uninsured hospital patients to programs that cover their medical expenses. Through bedside visits, the Advocate evaluates eligibility for federal, state and county assistance programs, completes applications, ensures follow‑up, and collaborates with hospital staff and government agencies. Primary goal: 98% of patients screened at bedside and attended to promptly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Screen uninsured patients at bedside to assess eligibility for assistance programs.
- Complete and follow up applications until approval.
- Document cases accurately in MPower and hospital systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training related to patient casework.
- Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
- Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls and track paperwork for enrollment and renewal.
- Maintain structured communication with applicants and agencies by phone or through the work queue.
- Assist applicants with additional reports, appointments, and transportation as needed.
- Request home visits as required for documentation.
- Inform clients of approvals and denials promptly.
- Attend required training on current rules and regulations.
- Arrive regularly and punctually.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior hospital experience preferred.
- Adaptability to changing processes, computer systems and government programs.
- Experience with state and federal programs.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Ability to navigate hospital and patient rooms during shift.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Fluent Spanish and English communication (oral and written).
- Ability to multitask and meet performance metrics in a fast‑paced environment.
