Certifications:

ACLS, BLS Must-Have:
Experience in cardiovascular/thoracic, transplant, and robotics preferred. Ability to float within facility scope of practice. Call requirements: 1 day a week and 1 weekend every 4 weeks.

Description:

The unit specializes in cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, including transplant and robotic surgeries. Weekend work is included in call requirements. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience, but first-time travelers will be accepted. Candidates will undergo a clinical screen to ensure clinical fit as per departmental guidelines. The maximum allowable time off is 7 days during the assignment.

Travelers are expected to work major holidays based on their assignment period. If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work both holidays. If three major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.

Full compliance is required to start on time. Compliance issues may delay the start date by 2 weeks. Local candidates may apply and will receive the same rate. Clinical expertise in areas such as abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, cardiothoracic robotic surgery, and endovascular procedures is preferred. Experience with trauma, critical care, and community hospitals is also advantageous. Key skills include aseptic technique, instrument processing, and care of scopes and fiber optic equipment.
