Overview
Room Attendant role at Paragon Hotel Company focuses on maintaining clean guest rooms and supporting housekeeping operations.
Responsibilities- Daily cleaning and returning vacant dirty rooms to a ready status.
- Maintain a clean and orderly housekeeping cart and vacuum cleaner.
- Report discrepancies to the Housekeeping Department Supervisor.
- Assist with guest requests and inquiries immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 1+ year experience in a branded, quality hotel preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach.
- Ability to push or pull 60 pounds and lift or carry 30 pounds.
- Perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
- Long hours sometimes required; work schedule varies and may include occasional nights, weekends, and evenings.
Knowledgeable in proper procedures for handling linens, terry, and other supplies; sanitation of supplies, guestrooms, and public areas; guestroom cleaning procedures; safety and security measures.
Skills:
maintain designated minutes per room; maintain guest privacy; follow cleaning procedures in a systematic fashion; assist with guest issues.
Abilities: multitask, detail oriented, service centric; work alone; comply with all standards; communicate with guests and coworkers in a friendly & helpful professional manner; work as a team member.
Essential Functions- Daily clean and return vacant dirty rooms to a vacant ready status and return occupied dirty rooms to an occupied clean status.
- Maintain a clean and orderly housekeeping cart.
- Report any discrepancies to the Housekeeping Department Supervisor.
- Turn in articles left in rooms to Housekeeping office for "Lost and Found" handling.
- Insure quality and quantity of linen closet by organizing and cleaning.
- Maximize job efficiency and neat, orderly appearance by maintaining supply cart and vacuum cleaner.
- Insure safety and maximum security.
- Assist in maintaining other areas of the hotel in a clean and orderly condition (ex. associate lounge, locker room, public areas, stairwells, back of the house area).
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries immediately.
- Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
