The Cloud Engineer serves in a senior-level Information Technology role. This position maintains the operational status of Office 365 and other virtualization and infrastructure components. Responsibilities include Office 365 support, email archiving/DLP, incident and problem resolution, access management, and contributing to infrastructure enhancement projects. The candidate should demonstrate strong analysis, decision-making, and adherence to change and configuration management principles, and be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
The Cloud Engineer will collaborate with engineering staff, project managers, and stakeholders and uphold the organization’s mission and values.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT
:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Office 365 and related infrastructure, including authentication (Azure or on-premises Active Directory) and Box. - OFFICE 365 SOLUTIONS & MORE
:
Monitor, configure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Office 365 components (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, Active Directory, Directory Sync) and Box. - AUTOMATION
:
Propose and implement automation enhancements and process improvements. - SUPPORT
:
Lead initiatives, oversee work results, provide training, and serve as a technical resource for Systems Engineers. - Perform all other duties as required.
- Required
:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Management/Computer Information Systems, or related) and a minimum of four years of IT systems experience with a focus on Office 365 administration/Box administration. Experience with vendors and contractors is required. - Preferred
:
Experience with Windows Server OS, RHEL 8/9, VMware vSphere 7.0+, Active Directory (ADFS, DNS, GPO), enterprise backup solutions (Dell Data Domain), cloud engineering (Azure, AWS, Box), SAN technologies (Dell Power Store), CAS; certifications such as Identity Governance; ITIL practices;
Service Now; advanced Excel; information and cybersecurity knowledge. - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft messaging/collaboration technologies; extensive experience with hybrid and cloud technologies (Box, Microsoft 365, MS Teams); expert-level knowledge of Microsoft server OS. - Skills:
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational abilities; proficient in Azure AD, Azure AD Connect, Active Directory, DNS; expert Power Shell scripting; in-depth knowledge of Box. - Abilities:
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift: Days, Monday–Friday (some after-hours work may be required).
Salary: $82,800 – $100,000 annually; pay commensurate with qualifications. Benefits for full-time employees include health/dental insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, paid leave, holidays, and tuition assistance eligibility after six months of employment.
Background check required prior to starting. Credit check may be required for positions of trust. Motor vehicle reports may be required for roles involving University vehicles. For faculty hires, provide original transcripts and credential evaluations for foreign-trained candidates.
