Data Analyst
Job Summary
Develop decision support and automated reporting solutions for the university’s administrative operations. Update standardized information resources on a regular schedule and respond to ad hoc information requests. Collaborate with IT and data stewards to design and develop new information resources using business intelligence tools. Summarize and communicate results effectively in reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
Responsibilities- Develop decision support and automated reporting solutions to support administrative operations.
- Maintain and update standardized reports, dashboards, and web sites on a regular schedule.
- Respond to ad hoc information requests and incorporate external resources for benchmarking.
- Collaborate with IT to expand data availability to business intelligence solutions through data warehousing.
- Support business intelligence tools for accessing information resources.
- Summarize and communicate results in executive summaries, reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Participate in institutional data governance activities and support subject matter experts for data integrity.
- Develop strategies and collaborate with data stewards, IT, and leadership on data management and governance issues.
- Master’s degree in social/behavioral science, information systems, or related field and two years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence in higher education, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in social/behavioral science, information systems, or related field and five years’ experience in data analysis or business intelligence in higher education.
- Experience in higher education or business operations settings.
- Statistical and analytical experience.
- Experience working with business intelligence and reporting software.
- Knowledge of best practices, history, and trends in data analysis and business intelligence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Analytical skills and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research design.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with senior leadership, faculty, and staff.
- Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Strong information gathering skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work autonomously.
- Good time management and ability to work on multiple projects.
Shift: Days; M‑F (outside standard hours may be required).
Pay Band: B11.
Salary:
Minimum $56,600 per year; commensurate with qualifications.
