Database Services Manager
Inside Higher Ed is seeking an experienced Database Services Manager to support the philanthropic advancement of Augusta University. The role reports to the Senior Director of Information and Data Systems and works closely with the Associate Director of Information Systems and Reporting.
Job SummaryManage donor and constituent databases, enforce data integrity standards, provide data analytics and reporting, and serve as the primary point of contact for data inquiries. The position also assists with system training, policy development, and ongoing data hygiene procedures.
Responsibilities- Manage the performance, integrity, and security of donor and constituent databases and related management information systems. Develop and implement data quality audits and reporting.
- Analyze data requests, design and produce lists and reports, and maintain database tools such as queries and exports.
- Document business processes for users of new or upgraded systems, provide customer support, and maintain data dictionaries and code tables.
- Maintain interfaces between donor, alumni, and university systems; execute data imports/exports and coordinate with external data stewards.
- Perform regular data updates and appending procedures using approved data sources and postal standards.
- Maintain relationships with hardware, software, and data subscription vendors, stay current on technology trends, and plan and implement upgrades.
- Develop standards for appeals, tracking use, and monitoring performance of constituent outreach and alumni/donor events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Business Management, or a related field and three years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or database systems management, preferably in a non‑profit or higher‑education setting.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a related field, two years of experience in the same domain, and a Blackbaud certification (bCRE) are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesMaintain confidentiality, learn new software, be self‑motivated and results‑oriented, prioritize tasks, collaborate with teams, use Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, communicate effectively, train staff, understand CRM systems (preferably Raiser's Edge), manage multiple projects, and stay current with industry best practices.
Shift/Salary/BenefitsShift: Days, Monday‑Friday (outside normal business hours may be required for an exempt position).
Pay Band: B12. Minimum Salary: $62,300 annually. Recruitment Period: 6/23/25 – Until Filled.
Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance;
Teachers’ Retirement System or Optional Retirement Plan; paid vacation, sick leave, and 13 holidays; and Tuition Assistance for full‑time employees after six months.
