Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Instructional Design and the AVP of AU Online, the Instructional Technology Coordinator (ITC) will work directly with the Division of Information Technology to coordinate the IT and technology needs of AU Online. The ITC will serve as the primary point of contact for the AU Online learner incident response system, support the LMS, and manage the integration of technologies that interface with the AU Online platform (Banner, EAB Navigate, Pathify, etc.)

while ensuring data security and integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Record Management: Provide LMS reports, monitor usage data, ensure data security and privacy compliance, and monitor system performance.
  • Resource Development and

    Collaboration:

    Identify technology opportunities, research and recommend educational software, develop user guides and training libraries, stay informed on emerging trends, recommend and pilot innovative technology projects, and support vendor management as needed.
  • Technology Support / Systems Management: Offer LMS (D2L) course administration support, resolve technology incidents, use authoring tools to create learning objects, prepare courses for delivery, communicate changes to constituents, and lead the AU Online ticketing system.
  • Other Duties: Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instructional/Educational Technology (or related field) and at least one year of experience in Information Technology or a related environment.

Required Experience
  • Experience in a higher education environment with teaching and/or training experience.
  • Experience supporting academic technologies in an educational setting.
  • Experience evaluating, implementing, and maintaining software.
  • Working knowledge of D2L.
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and accessibility.
  • Experience training others on technology topics.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to user problems through helpdesk.
  • Experience with system reporting and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting an LMS for an online program.
  • Prior teaching or training experience.
  • Working knowledge of ECHO 360, Turnitin, Voice Thread, Hypothesis, EAB Navigate, Banner, or Pathify.
  • Understanding of FERPA and data privacy issues.
  • Knowledge of documentation and data analysis techniques.
