Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician ($36.43 – $42.41/hr.) at Georgia‑Pacific LLC

Join Georgia‑Pacific LLC as a Multi‑Craft Maintenance Technician. This role is based at 1745 Doug Barnard Pkwy, Augusta, GA 30906.

Shift: 2‑3‑2 work schedule (7 A – 7 P, 7 P – 7 A). Training will be on 1st shift for 3 months. Candidates must be flexible and available to work any shift.

  • Salary: $36.43 – $42.41 per hour (depending on experience)
What You Will Do
  • Support our safe working environment by adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial corrugated box making machinery.
  • Troubleshoot electrical motors, frequency drives, PLCs, proximity sensors, limit switches, and relays.
  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical issues (12 VDC to 480 VAC).
  • Perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Respond to unscheduled floor calls with a sense of urgency.
  • Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision‑measuring devices, and testing instruments.
  • Be willing and able to work any shift, holiday, weekend, and overtime as needed.
  • Provide basic hand tools and a rolling toolbox.
  • Demonstrate a self‑starting and disciplined work ethic.
  • Problem‑solve with team members.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 2+ years maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Industrial electrical knowledge with advanced motor and frequency drive troubleshooting experience.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience with conveyor systems, actuated valves, and welding.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley).
  • Prior maintenance experience in the packaging industry with a focus on converting/corrugating equipment.
  • Associate’s degree in electrical and/or mechanical technology.
