Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician II will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness while supporting company policies, goals, and objectives.

Position Responsibilities – Essential
  • Demonstrate a safety-first mindset and approach in execution of all duties.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment from basic hydraulic and mechanical equipment to complex PLC-controlled machinery.
  • Replace and repair parts, rebuild equipment, align gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Effectively troubleshoot failures and work in a team environment to determine root causes of failure.
  • Participate in plant shift meetings and continuous improvement activities.
  • Set molds in injection molding machines with assistance.
  • Participate in a maintenance training program to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Develop skills in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC fields.
  • Utilize CMMS system to manage work orders, review work history, and manage parts usage.
  • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after processes to foster a positive safety culture.
  • Green Wood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.
Position Responsibilities – Non-Essential/Other
  • Develop, prepare, and present recommendations and reports as requested.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrate behavior supporting a positive work environment while safely executing assigned tasks.

  • High motivation, disciplined problem-solver/troubleshooter.
  • Strong ethics and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment or distribution center environment.
  • Ability to work in seasonal temperatures that may be extreme.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
  • Proactive “self-starter.”
  • Above-average mechanical aptitude.
  • Operate powered lift equipment (forklift, wave picker, hoists, etc.).
  • PLC test equipment experience including troubleshooting, repairs, PMs and other maintenance measures.
  • Experienced in principles and standards for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment operations.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic algebra for electrical/electronic calculations.
  • Complete required pulmonary function test and fit test for respirator; must meet grooming requirements.
  • Demonstrate successful support of a positive safety culture.
  • Perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
Beneficial Skills and Experience
  • Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate preferred.
  • Expertise with basic office computer software and ability to learn maintenance software.
