Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Operating Room Circulator for an outpatient surgery position caring for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

• Work in an outpatient surgery unit within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes pediatrics through geriatrics
• Surgical specialties include retina, total hip/knees, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, lap chole, hernia repairs, and podiatry
• Circulator RN responsible for intraoperative care across 5 operating rooms with an average daily census of 18
• Schedule alternates between 5 days one week and 4 the next, shifts are 6:30am-3:00pm and 8:30am-5:00pm
• No weekend shifts required
• Rare floating to other units
• No on-call; however, may be required to stay past shift based on case volume
• EMR system is Epic and medication management is through Pyxis
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO), not allowed during the first week or during Spring Break
• Travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift and unit
• Full compliance is required prior to starting and orientation follows a bi-weekly schedule
• First-time travelers are accepted
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• Locals are accepted at the same rate

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of operating room circulator experience in the intraoperative setting
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with Epic and Pyxis preferred
• Must provide two supervisory references from managers or above
• Willing to work assigned major holidays per unit policy
• Returning travelers must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year, with successful assignment elsewhere if required
