Job SummaryRegistered Nurses provide quality nursing services by working with the patient care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care and by providing a positive, supportive environment. The RN is the frontline representative of the patient care team often serving as the intermediary between the patient and family, providers, and other care team members. This role is expected to participate in performance improvement initiatives;
maintain professional competence; develop others; uphold confidentiality, safety, and professional standards; and support Shared Governance through service on councils or sponsored activities.
- Patient Care and Care Coordination: monitor, examine, and evaluate patient conditions; assist with care plans and take appropriate actions; deliver care plans as outlined; collaborate with and communicate patient care plans; prioritize daily patient flow; maintain documentation.
- Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction: listen to concerns, probe in depth, respond in a timely manner; serve as an educational resource for patients and families; communicate necessary patient information; embrace patient- and family-centered care; prioritize actions; report pertinent information.
- Performance Improvement: seek opportunities to improve the work environment and processes; contribute ideas to identify solutions; support change implementation; contribute to improvement initiatives aligning with better patient quality outcomes, satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Professional Competency and Growth: maintain professional licenses and certifications; complete required training; self-identify and manage training opportunities; engage in professional organizations; stay current with research; seek growth and leadership opportunities.
- Professional Leadership: mentor and precept patients; foster a positive working environment; adhere to confidentiality, safety, and professional standards; embrace shared governance and demonstrate integrity; hold self and others accountable; promote the nursing profession; assist in recruitment.
- Other duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar policies.
Minimum Education
- Associate's Nursing or Bachelor’s Nursing;
Master’s Nursing preferred.
- BLS Instructor or Basic Life Support.
- Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN–Multi‑state Compact.
