Travel Nurse RN – Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre‑Post Op

Location: Augusta, GA

Agency: Wayward Medical Staffing

Pay: $1,619 to $1,919 per week

Shift: Days – 5 days x 8 hours

Contract Duration: 14 weeks

Start Date: 1/26/2026

Position Summary: We’re seeking a qualified Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre‑Post Op Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality, compassionate care to patients in the recovery area. You will monitor patients, manage pain, administer medications, and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure safe transitions from anesthesia to postoperative recovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and monitor patients in the PACU/Pre‑Post Op area to assess pain, vital signs, and overall recovery status.
  • Administer medications and therapies according to the patient care plan and physician orders.
  • Develop and document comprehensive A/P notes, including shifting signs and potential complications.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to provide updates on patient condition and anticipated recovery milestones.
  • Educate patients and families on postoperative care, pain management, and discharge instructions.
  • Respond promptly to patient emergencies and coordinate life‑saving interventions.
  • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and quality protocols.

Requirements:

  • BLS certification.
  • Completion of CEU Reminder/Collection.
  • Core Mandatory Part I, Part II (Nursing), and Part III.
  • Valid RN license in the state of Georgia.
  • Preferred experience:

    1–3 years in a PACU or similar acute care setting.
