Job Description
Medical Associates Plus (MAP) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as a primary care provider for patients of all ages. This role includes delivering both scheduled and episodic/walk-in care. The NP/PA functions as a healthcare provider, educator, consultant, and clinical leader, working collaboratively with the Medical Director. All services are provided in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and within the established policies, protocols, and standards of Medical Associates Plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to diverse patient populations
- Conduct physical exams, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and prevention
- Document patient encounters accurately using our electronic health record (EHR)
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and care coordinators
- Support quality improvement, risk management, and compliance efforts
- Participate in call coverage and clinic leadership, as needed
Qualifications
Education and Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program.
- Current licensure as a NP/PA the state of practice.
- National certification in a primary care specialty (e.g., FNP) required.
- BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to educate and engage patients in their care.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records and standard office software.
- Committed to continuous professional development and ethical practice.
- Ability to manage stressful situations, resolve conflict, and prioritize multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform clinical duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent walking, standing, and use of hands; occasional sitting, reaching, kneeling, or bending.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Working Conditions
- The primary work location is an outpatient clinic setting with standard lighting, climate control, and moderate noise.
- May be exposed to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, and bodily fluids.
- Occasional extended hours or weekend shifts may be required.
