Job Summary

This position provides nursing care and treatments for geriatric patients, assists residents with activities of daily living (ADL), monitors patient status, and documents care in line with the Certified Nursing Assistant scope of practice.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care for assigned residents and request assistance when necessary.
  • Assist residents with bathing, shaving, oral care, hair styling, dressing; distribute meals and assist with meal consumption; manage urinal and drainage bags; record input/output; collect routine specimens.
  • Monitor patient weight, vitals; document all care and report changes to the charge nurse promptly.
  • Assist residents in transferring to and from bed, chair, commode, or stretcher using safe transfer techniques and equipment.
  • Perform range‑of‑motion exercises, ambulate patients as indicated; maintain resident‑specific maintenance plan.
  • Maintain resident rooms, linens, and equipment; clean bedside tables, closets; rinse soiled clothing and prepare for laundry.
  • Escort residents to and from facility areas and hospitals; provide ongoing assistance during routine clinic visits.
  • Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED from a recognized state or federal accrediting organization.
  • Current Nursing Assistant certification (in good standing) for the state of Georgia.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant.
  • Experience in care of the physically ill, preferably in a geriatric or long‑term care setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledgeable in providing customer service at an above‑average level.
  • Understand basic human anatomy and possess strong nursing assistant skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other common software/databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong telephone etiquette, organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Ability to perform vital signs, assess pain, obtain weights, and assist with ADL and transfers using mechanical lifts.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow oral and written instructions.
Shift / Salary / Benefits
  • Shift: Rotating
  • Pay Band: B3
  • Salary: within the established range (minimum midpoint) commensurate with qualifications.
  • Recruitment Period:
    Until Filled
  • Benefits for full‑time employees include health, dental, life insurance, teachers retirement system (optional), vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays.
  • Tuition Assistance Program may be available for employees with more than six months of successful employment.
Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates must pass a background check before starting. Candidates will also complete the Georgia Long‑term Care background check and may be required to complete additional pre‑employment checks such as drug screening, credit check, or physical, depending on duties. Faculty hires must provide proof of completed academic degrees or transcripts.
