Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with circulate and scrub experience across multiple surgical specialties, requiring a GA or compact RN license and prior charge and travel experience.

Details
  • Main OR setting supporting General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgeries
  • 16 operating rooms with an average daily census of 35 patients
  • Patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics
  • Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis medication system, and 2 Da Vinci XI robotic surgical systems
  • Requires working 2-3 weekends per 8-week schedule, either in-house or on call
  • On-call requirements include 7-8 calls per 8-week schedule, including 1 weekend call, 1-2 weekend shifts, and 2-3 weekday night calls
  • Call shifts are either 7 PM-7 AM or 7 AM-7 PM
  • Rare floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
Requirements
  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of previous charge experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of OR experience required; first-time travelers accepted
  • Circulate and scrub experience required
  • Travel experience required
  • 1:1 patient ratio experience
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Community Hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required;
    Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties including Vascular, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedic, General Surgery, Robotics, Urology, ENT, Bariatrics, and Thoracic procedures
Additional Information
  • Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases across multiple specialties including robotics
  • Facility-provided scrubs
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission with no changes allowed after offer
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week or during Spring Break blackout dates (April 4th-12th)
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were cancelled or deemed unable to return must complete one successful assignment at another facility before reapplying
  • Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
