NuWest Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support a long-term care facility in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on caregiving skills, a steady bedside manner, and a genuine commitment to improving quality of life for residents in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality direct care to residents in a long-term care setting.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Obtain and document resident vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight.
• Assist with resident mobility, transfers, and positioning, using proper body mechanics and equipment.
• Observe and report changes in resident condition, behavior, or needs to nursing staff promptly.
• Support residents with mobility aids, adaptive equipment, and range-of-motion exercises as directed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Assist with meal service and ensure residents' nutritional and hydration needs are met.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and resident-focused care environment, including turning/repositioning and skin integrity checks.
• Support infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene and use of PPE.
• Foster a respectful, dignified, and person-centered approach to resident care.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with nurses and the broader care team.

Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, in good standing with state registry.
• Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of ADL support, transfer/mobility techniques, and infection control practices.
• Strong patient service, empathy, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, resident-centered environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to resident safety and dignity.
• Current CPR/BLS certification (if required by facility).
• Ability to lift/assist with resident transfers per facility physical requirements.
