API Inspector

Job Summary

API Inspector role at thyssenkrupp Materials Services. The position focuses on quality monitoring across internal and external branches, maintaining charts and graphs, facilitating root‑cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement projects.

• Interface with all branches to manage quality escapes.
• Maintain quality charts, graphs, and enable rapid root‑cause analysis.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce quality escapes.
• Travel up to 70% within continental U.S.
• Meet customer quality metrics and interface with Branch Quality Leadership.
• Ensure all branches meet root‑cause and customer metrics.

• Must have API 510, 570, and 653 certifications.
• Must have NDT certifications in UT, MT, PT, and VT.
• Six Sigma Greenbelt training or certification.
• Extensive knowledge of inspection processes and controls.
• PC literacy (Excel, Word, data entry).
• Ability to read prints and drawings.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Root Cause & Corrective Action experience and understanding of Continuous Improvement.
• Knowledge of Aerospace and quality science arena.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years manufacturing and quality control experience (preferred).
• AS9100 auditor certification or ability to become one (preferred).
