College/Department Information:
The Immunology Center of Georgia (IMMCG) represents a new initiative by the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University to leverage the immune system to combat disease. IMMCG aims to recruit faculty and staff to lead projects across cardiovascular disease, obesity and metabolic disorders, autoimmune and infectious disease, neurodegenerative disease, and cancer.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated, self-driven, and collaborative team member to join our research group. Our work encompasses basic and translational immunology, addressing questions on T cell development and function, including T-T cell communication. Studies use samples from healthy individuals and patients, with pre-clinical animal models. Technologies include organoids, flow cytometry, transcriptomic single-cell analyses, and CRISPR/Cas9 approaches.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize computational tools to analyze and interpret experimental results and data generated within the lab.
  • Participate in project planning, lead 1-2 projects, develop research protocols and strategies, ensure adherence to scientific principles and federal guidelines.
  • Coordinate and participate in literature research; summarize findings; develop derivative applications of techniques from own research or other projects; present findings at local, national, and international meetings.
  • Compose articles for publication; collaborate to review and refine manuscripts for accuracy and clarity.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel; foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Advise principal investigator, other postdocs, students, and research personnel on techniques and procedures; fulfill other research-related duties as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. and/or M.D. from an accredited college or university.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn.

SKILLS
:
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization, organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

ABILITIES
:
Ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to complete work and meet deadlines; willingness and ability to work with research animals; ability to work independently with only general supervision.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days;
Monday - Friday (work outside of normal business hours may be required).

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint).

Recruitment Period:
