Researching Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Stroke, Hypertension, Diabetes... With the increasing frequency of obesity and diabetes, especially in Georgia, cardiovascular disease is reaching epidemic proportions.
Job Summary
A training position designed to learn through engagement in an advanced level of scientific technical and administrative work in support of research efforts in an assigned laboratory or research setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of experimental studies including Molecular biology, Cell biology, and Animal experiments.
- Participate in project planning and development of research protocols.
- Coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature; summarize and evaluate findings.
- Compose articles for publication in scientific journals;
Review articles prepared by others. - Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants and other research personnel engaged in research activities and/or related laboratory work.
Required Qualifications
MD, Ph.D., MD/PhD or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong research background in inflammation, flow cytometry or fluorescence imaging or protein-protein interaction or molecular biology or mitochondria metabolism and dynamics analysis transcriptional regulation/signaling pathways/non-coding RNAs.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days;
Monday - Friday. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range.
