Job Summary:
The Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University is recruiting an Assistant Research Scientist to conduct research on human samples and mouse models for cancer signaling and drug development in precision medicine. This is a non‑tenure track position responsible for independent research, manuscript preparation, grant writing, lab management, student mentoring, and collaboration with other scientists.
- Conduct independent scientific research, including planning, execution of experiments, and data analysis (60%).
- Assist in student mentoring and supervision of their research projects (5%).
- Prepare scientific manuscripts and grant applications, including data and figure preparation for submission (30%).
- Handle purchases and safety protocol updates; complete required research training (5%).
- PhD or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
This position is fiscal‑year based and works year‑round. The salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.
