Public Safety Officer, Unarmed, Nights

Responsibilities

Responsible for routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Responsible for safe de-escalation of critical events and use of sound judgment in engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety preferred
• Valid Driver's license and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire
• Georgia P.O.S.T. certification preferred
• Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or baton required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment, including certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed
