Public Safety Officer, Unarmed, Nights

Position Overview

Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Responsible for the safe de‑escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

• Minimum Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum Experience:
  
  Two years of experience in general security, military or other public safety experience preferred.
• Minimum Licensure/Certification:
  Valid Driver's license & adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Additional Qualifications:
  • Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire.
  • Georgia P.O.S.T. certification preferred.
  • Carry non‑lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton required.
  • Must pass pre‑employment psychological screening.
  • Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment, including certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
