Overview

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education : A high school diploma, associate’s degree, and/or related experience are preferred.

Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

Skills: Must have knowledge of all re-keys and re-pinning of cylinder devices and carpenter tools and be able to use them. Must have leadership ability with good interpersonal skills.

Work Experience: At least four years of on-the-job experience in the field of carpentry locksmith and/or door closures.

Primary Duty

This position is responsible for planning, purchasing, installing, changing, and repairing locks, door closures, panic devices, and safety devices for door maintenance as well as some carpentry duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans and executes duties as a locksmith and door repairman for all school facilities.
  • Confidential security of keys for the entire school system.
  • Re-keys locks, changes locks, repairs door hardware, re-hangs doors, plumbs doors, and any other door maintenance.
  • Keeps accurate records.
  • Gives status reports.
  • Maintains all tools, equipment, and trucks assigned to the locksmith.
  • The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
