Journeyman Plumber

Weldon Contractors is a full service, prime mechanical and plumbing contractor and technical service company specializing in the Industrial and Commercial sectors of the construction market. Since 1984, we have been successfully completing HVAC, mechanical metal fabricating, process piping, plumbing, and service work in owner-occupied facilities as well as new construction.

Ideal candidate for this position will be goal-oriented, ambitious, driven and highly motivated with the knowledge and skills necessary to complete work on plumbing projects ranging from $1,500.00 to $8,.

Duties and responsibilities

• Create isometric drawings from P& orthogonal drawings, including field measurements and site conditions.
• Perform additional assignments per Superintendent and Project manager.
• Understanding and experience with Sanitary Waste and Vent, Domestic Water and Pas Piping and the controls and connections to process equipment.
• Read and understand P& Isometric drawings.
• Layout pipe routes through existing plant conditions.

Experience with some or all of the following:

• PVC – Socket & SDR-35 (1/2” thru 6”)
• HDPE – Fusion Weld (4” thru 24”)
• Copper – Threaded & Socket (sweat) (1/2” thru 3”)
  * Can layout pipelines including changes in elevation, direction & flow (ie – take-outs for elbows, rolling off-sets, etc…).
• Install in-line instrumentation, valves, and other appurtances.
• Willing to work at least 40 hours per week, or as much as 7-12’s, if required by contract.
• Flexibility on work environment (ie – dirty versus clean work).
• Flexibility to work night shift as required.
• Flexibility to work outside the trade, if plumbing work is not available.

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years Commercial/Industrial Plumbing experience.
• Own Transportation and willingness to work within the DFW region.
• Ability to work off-shift and extended hours as needed.
• US Citizen or Green Card Verified.
• Provide own hand tools.
• Background Check and Drug Test
