Platform Engineer; Hybrid

Enlighten, a leader in big data solution development, is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build and deploy scalable cloud-based services. The role is hybrid with 1–2 days per week on-site in Augusta, GA.

Enlighten is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer with experience in AWS, Python or Go, and a strong Linux foundation. The engineer will autonomously identify and solve problems while contributing to the broader strategic goals set by the architecture team. The role is hybrid with a strong engineering team.

• Integrate and optimize existing code bases for robustness and performance.
• Leverage infrastructure-as-code tools to build, manage and deploy virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
• Design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications.
• Collaborate on open-source code integration to solve complex problems.
• Other duties as assigned.

• U.S. citizenship required;
  Secret clearance will be processed; A clearance is not required on day 1.
• 9+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Python or Go) with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR 7 years with a master’s; OR high school diploma with 13+ years.
• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, storage layers (Ceph, Rook, Longhorn).
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications and shell scripting (Bash).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Hybrid environment; 1–2 days per week on-site in Augusta, GA.

• Experience with DISA’s Big Data Platform or other Big Data systems (Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab‑CI, Travis‑CI, Jenkins).
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with puppeteer, Ansible, Maven, virtualization (OVIRT, Proxmox, VMware).
