Job Summary The State Government is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to analyze business processes across participating government offices. The selected candidate will identify critical business functions, supporting data elements, applications, reports, and workflows while developing process maps, business requirements, and use cases for the Data Cataloging and Tagging Pilot.
Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of public-sector or government experience.
Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
Experience developing business process maps and workflow diagrams.
Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and requirements workshops.
Ability to identify business data elements, systems, and reporting requirements.
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with government operations and cross-agency business processes.
Knowledge of data governance or data cataloging projects.
Experience with Visio, Lucidchart, or similar process mapping tools.
Familiarity with business process modeling techniques such as BPMN.
Key Responsibilities Conduct interviews with State agency stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Analyze existing business processes, applications, and workflows.
Develop current-state business process maps.
Identify critical data fields, systems, reports, and information flows.
Document business requirements and functional use cases.
Validate process maps and findings with agency participants.
Organize use cases to support the data cataloging proof of concept.
Coordinate with Data Governance Leads and Solution Architects.
