Account Executive at Masis Professional GroupOur client is seeking an experienced Estimator to support and lead the pre‑construction and bidding process for civil and highway projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure competitive and successful bids. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a deep understanding of roadway construction practices.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates
- Perform quantity take‑offs, cost analysis, and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather accurate pricing and scope information
- Identify potential risks, safety considerations, and constructability issues during pre‑bid analysis
- Develop and maintain unit cost databases and historical cost records
- Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation in line with project requirements
- Attend pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and interact with clients as required
- Provide support during project handoff to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction teams
- Monitor industry pricing trends and provide input on cost control strategies
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, and roadway construction processes
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities with attention to detail
- Capable of calculating quantities, understanding grades/elevations, and identifying cost impacts
- Team‑oriented with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and customer service in a fast‑paced environment
- Must be dependable, punctual, and adaptable to shifting project demands
- Willingness to travel to job sites or pre‑bid meetings as required
- Flexibility to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
