Assistant Professor of Aviation Physics, Tenure Track (2174)
Join the University of Maine at Augusta as a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Aviation Physics, beginning fall 2026. The successful candidate will have experience teaching a wide range of physics courses, including Aviation Physics and Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Physics, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Duty will include teaching physics courses affiliated with UMA’s Prison Education Partnership (PEP) and supporting early‑college programming, as well as contributing to curriculum development, student advising, committee service, and community outreach.
Qualifications- Doctorate in physics, AMT Physics, or related field
- Strong background in physics education and pedagogy
- Experience teaching and/or tutoring physics, including work as a teaching assistant
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in online and distance education modalities
- Experience teaching using new technologies and delivery systems
- Experience teaching physics at the college level

Salary & BenefitsSalary:
Mid‑to‑high 60s range for a tenure‑track position, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
