Overview

As a member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for providing direction, coaching, and mentoring to a team of professional and technical staff responsible for the quality and delivery of the work.

Responsibilities
  • Required to lead, develop, and foster an innovative and collaborative work environment within TRC's Transmission Engineering practice.
  • Supervise staff including performance feedback, salary planning, training, and career development.
  • Work with the other Transmission Engineering supervisors for resource management optimization.
  • Responsible for project bill rate establishment and utilization of your staff.
  • Work closely with your staff to understand technical gaps and provide training opportunities to fill those gaps.
  • Responsible for timesheet and expense approvals of your staff.
  • Participate with the hiring manager in the recruiting process including interviewing and onboarding of new employees.
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals, schedules, and budget estimates for client activities.
  • Participate with your Manager in overseeing and expanding the workload of existing clients.
  • Participate with your Manager in new client pursuits.
  • Responsible for the coordination & planning of assignments, ensuring that projects for which you supervise meet resource requirements, budget, and schedule.
  • As a project supervisor, ensure performance objectives are being met, proper document management is being implemented, and the quality process is being followed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert by applying knowledge of industry standards and civil/electrical engineering design principles specific to Overhead and Underground utility transmission systems. Provide QAQC support for projects when required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field (Civil or Structural preferred)
  • Registered Professional Engineer is preferred
  • 5+ years of transmission line engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions quickly, juggle multiple tasks, communicate clearly and concisely, and provide effective leadership
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to engage an audience
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills
  • Will be required to travel (approximately 1 trip per month).
