Lewiston Needs Mental Health Providers and Clergy Members as their Recovery Continues

American Red Cross of Northern New England is opening the Community Resiliency Center (CRC) in downtown Lewiston to provide supportive services for victims, survivors, first responders, families and anyone impacted by the mass violence. We are seeking volunteers to offer mental‑health and spiritual support at the CRC, both in‑person and virtually.

Volunteer participants will:

• Provide counseling, psychological support and crisis intervention to individuals affected by the tragedy.
• Offer spiritual care, chaplaincy services and comfort to those in need.
• Collaborate with other CRC staff and community partners to ensure comprehensive recovery assistance.

• Mental Health Professionals
  • Licensed mental health practitioners, school psychologists, counselors or psychiatric nurses.
  • Retired mental health professionals who meet current licensing or credentialing requirements.
• Clergy Members
  • Board‑certified chaplains or professional chaplains (paid or volunteer).
  • Endorsed by their faith organization or recognized as leaders within a local faith community.
