Job Description

The Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) / MRI Technologist is responsible for reviewing patient history and physician's orders, educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure their understanding and cooperation. The technologist prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within their scope of practice, continuously monitors patient condition, and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
  • Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures while analyzing results and identifying quality issues.
  • Take appropriate actions to resolve image quality issues, including re-positioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Maine State Radiologic Technologist license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification preferred.
