Family Law Paralegal

Organized, empathetic, confident managing complex and sensitive matters. Thrive in fast‑paced, collaborative setting and care deeply about delivering top‑notch client service.

What You’ll Do
  • Support attorneys through every stage of family law matters – divorce, custody, post‑judgment, and more.
  • Draft pleadings, financial affidavits, discovery, settlement documents.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, answering questions and gathering information.
  • Manage case files, court filings, and scheduling.
  • Help prepare for mediations, depositions, and court hearings.
  • Track deadlines, billable time, and assist with billing.
  • Coordinate with courts and opposing counsel.
What You Bring
  • 1–5 years of paralegal or high‑level legal assistant experience (family law preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Maine family court procedures.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort managing multiple active cases with competing deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and legal software (Clio is a plus).
  • Calm, compassionate, and professional demeanor – especially when clients navigate tough situations.
