We are offering an opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Skilled Rehab unit:

    Maine General Rehabilitation & Long Term Care at Gray Birch strives to provide the most comprehensive skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, long-term care and assisted living options to the southern Kennebec Valley community.

    The Birches is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation unit where our caring team of nurses and therapists are committed to offering patients the excellent care they need to return home as soon as possible. We are dedicated to making every patient’s stay a comfortable and successful one, while assisting them to regain independence in a supportive, welcoming environment.

    This position is 24 hours per week on the night shift. You will work two 12-hour shifts per week, 7p-7a. Weekend & holiday rotation required.

    The Work:

    • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
    • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
    • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
    • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires. May perform assigned supervisory responsibilities as needed.

    You have:

    • Either a current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion
    • Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively
    • 1 year of nursing experience preferred, new grads welcome to apply!
    • Ability to effectively manage time and multiple priorities
    • Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills
